That's the topic slated for debate today before the House Judiciary Committee. The American Civil Liberties Union has been trying for five years to convince lawmakers that some young criminals deserve a second chance, and that judges should have broader authority to mete out punishment to teens. "We are encouraged (the committee) has decided to re-examine sentencing laws that treat children in this state so harshly," Michigan ACLU Executive Director Kary Moss said in a statement.

Radiohead have set the North American release date for In Rainbows. The album will hit stores January 1 through the band's own TBD Records (which, as expected, is teaming with ATO Records Group for the release), with "Bodysnatchers" and "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" as the first two singles. According to a press release, more information on the album and the band's tour plans will be announced soon. ... In case teens need an extra incentive to rack up credit-card debt, branded cards featuring Hilary Duff and Usher are on the way, according to Brandweek. Duff is getting a prepaid Visa gift card "aimed to show the young ones how to manage their pocket change (and learn about service fees)," according to the branding-news magazine, while Usher has a Debit MasterCard that features an empowerment message.
